Laboratoria works to unlock inclusive economic mobility by connecting women from low-income backgrounds with the skills, confidence, and networks they need to thrive in the AI era.
Throughout the past decade, Laboratoria has helped 10,000+ women in 11 countries fight systemic barriers and find meaningful work in tech. Laboratoria’s model focuses on the critical skills and growth networks that enhance employability. The model also enriches participants’ existing competencies to strengthen their position in the job market.

Collective impact
2025
Laboratoria launched “Activa tu carrera,” a job readiness program combining skills training, coaching, and peer support to help women re-enter the workforce with confidence and competence. Support from the Akamai Foundation will enable Laboratoria to expand their programming in 2026, providing training and support to 400 unemployed/underemployed women from underserved communities in Latin America.
