Fast Forward
Fast Forward supports the development of nonprofits that create tech for good. Fast Forward helps scale tech nonprofits by delivering follow-on funding, robust programming, and community support.
Fast Forward’s Impact Vertical model pairs flexible funding with hands-on support. The types of support offered includes 1:1 coaching with PR and marketing experts, capacity-building support, and facilitated introductions to Fast Forward’s broader network of corporate and philanthropic partners. Fast Forward cohorts have access to peer forums, fundraising training, and workshops on topics such as legal support, data privacy, and board management. Fast Forward has successfully helped scale 100+ nonprofits.

By supporting Fast Forward’s Impact Vertical model from 2023 to 2025, The Akamai Foundation has supported six high-impact organizations with pass-through funding and tailored capacity-building support to help them scale their work and deepen their impact in education, workforce development, and equitable pathways into tech.

An Akamai Foundation Empower Grant helped Fast Forward create a BIPOC founder’s network across their programs, supporting diverse voices in tech.
