With support from the Akamai Foundation, CodePath prepared over 13,700 students for a technology landscape increasingly shaped by AI. By embedding AI in every facet of the curriculum — instead of treating it as a stand-alone topic — students increased their AI literacy while sharpening skills in coding and software engineering. Support from the Akamai Foundation has enabled CodePath to intentionally scale up its efforts, aiming to provide 27,000 course enrollments in 2026.
Over two years, Felipe, a computer science student at Florida International University, Class of ‘26, progressed through multiple CodePath courses while serving as a CodePath Tech Fellow, supporting peers through technical concepts, resume reviews, and interview preparation. After facing job rejections throughout the year, he credits the CodePath community’s encouragement with helping him persevere. In Summer 2025, Felipe secured a competitive technical internship with the Florida Department of Transportation.
CodePath’s Director of Developer Relations and an Akamai employee shared a vision to co-develop a curriculum for new learners to enter the tech field. In 2025, CodePath received an Empower grant to embark on this path together, exploring volunteer opportunities for Akamai employees and inventive ways to use the Akamai platform and its related services.
